Interpretive copy at reading level twelve, facts at expert level
Interpretive copy is a hard format: expert facts, twelve-year-old reading level, sixty words, and it must survive five years of school visits asking questions the panel did not answer.
Why the mainstream APIs fail here
The copy comes out either too adult, because experts write it, or so simplified it is wrong, and the species whose panel needs the most care is the one about disease, predation or venom, where general models add hedges and lose the words that fit.
How MagmaRouter is used for this
Give the facts and the word budget; get the panel at the reading level, then the docent version underneath with the extra depth for staff. Ask what question a ten-year-old will ask that the panel does not answer, and decide whether it goes on the panel or in the docent notes.
A working loop
- Panel first at reading age twelve, sixty words, one idea.
- Docent notes second, with the questions visitors actually ask.
- Walk the panel in the space before approving; sightlines change the text.
