MagmaRouter vs Groq

MagmaRouter and Groq

Groq is an inference cloud built on its own LPU hardware, with a free tier, low per-token prices and no prompt retention by default. MagmaRouter is a small gateway that offers only uncensored Xploded models and caps spend on every key.

Facts checked October 2026 against Groq’s own site, docs and policies.

MagmaRouterGroq
What it isHosted gateway for one uncensored, tool capable model line (Xploded).GroqCloud, an inference API running open models such as Llama 3.3 70B, GPT OSS 120B and 20B, Qwen and Whisper on Groq's own LPU hardware.
PricingPay as you go, $5 minimum top-up, no subscription required.Per token, priced per model, for example GPT OSS 20B at $0.075 in and $0.30 out per 1M tokens. A free tier with basic rate limits. The Developer tier is pay as you go on a card, billed monthly in arrears, and unlocks Batch and Flex processing.
OpenAI-compatibleYesMostly. Base URL https://api.groq.com/openai/v1. Unsupported: logprobs, logit_bias, top_logprobs, messages[].name, and n other than 1.
Anthropic-compatibleYes, /v1/messages (verified with Claude Code)Not documented.
Uncensored / abliteratedFive uncensored models, the Xploded line: GLM 5.3, GLM 5.3 Flash, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, MiMo V2.6 Flash and Qwen3.8 27B. Every one calls tools. No uncensored, abliterated or roleplay finetunes. The acceptable use policy bans sexually explicit content that is illegal, among other things, and customers with safeguards may ask Groq for an exception.
Prompt retentionNo prompt or completion stored; model, tokens and cost kept 90 days; signed prompt-hash receiptBy default Groq does not retain customer data for inference requests. Data may be kept up to 30 days for reliability and abuse monitoring or for batch jobs. Zero Data Retention can be switched on in Data Controls.
Per-key spend capsLifetime and monthly per-key caps, enforced by reserving the worst case and clamping max_tokensMonthly spend limits that block API access when reached, applied organisation-wide across all keys; Groq notes a 10 to 15 minute delay in spend tracking, so a limit can be overshot slightly. Rate limits also apply at the organisation level.

Where Groq is the better choice

  • Its own LPU hardware built for fast inference, a free tier for trying the API, and low per-token prices on mainstream open models. MagmaRouter has no free tier.
  • No retention of inference data by default plus a Zero Data Retention toggle, built-in browser search and code execution tools on the GPT OSS models, and Batch and Flex processing.

Where MagmaRouter is different

  • MagmaRouter sells uncensored Xploded models (GLM 5.3 Xploded, GLM 5.3 Flash Xploded, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Xploded, MiMo V2.6 Flash Xploded, Qwen3.8 27B Xploded), all with tool calling, and has an Anthropic-compatible /v1/messages endpoint, so Claude Code works without a proxy.
  • MagmaRouter caps spend on each key, lifetime and monthly, by reserving the worst-case cost and clamping max_tokens before the call, so a key cannot overrun. It is prepaid from a $5 top-up with no subscription.

The uncensored models MagmaRouter sells

If you are comparing Groq because you want an uncensored or abliterated model API, these are the models on MagmaRouter: GLM 5.3 uncensored, GLM 5.3 Flash uncensored, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash uncensored, MiMo V2.6 Flash abliterated, Qwen3.8 27B uncensored and Qwen3.8 27B Fast uncensored. Every one calls tools, works in Claude Code through the Anthropic endpoint, and is priced per million tokens as listed on its model page.

FAQ

Does Groq allow uncensored or NSFW models?

Groq hosts no uncensored or roleplay finetunes, and its acceptable use policy bans illegal sexually explicit content, with exceptions available on request for lawful business or research use. MagmaRouter's Xploded line exists for uncensored use.

Can I use Groq with Claude Code?

Groq documents an OpenAI-compatible API but no Anthropic /v1/messages endpoint, so Claude Code would need a translation proxy. MagmaRouter exposes /v1/messages directly.

Does Groq have spend limits?

Yes, a monthly limit that blocks access when hit, but it covers the whole organisation rather than each key, and tracking lags 10 to 15 minutes, so small overruns can happen. MagmaRouter caps each key before the call is made.

Which uncensored models does MagmaRouter sell?

MagmaRouter sells GLM 5.3 Xploded, GLM 5.3 Flash Xploded, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Xploded, MiMo V2.6 Flash Xploded, Qwen3.8 27B Xploded, Qwen3.8 27B Fast Xploded. The table above has the price and context for each.

Are these models abliterated or uncensored?

MiMo V2.6 Flash Xploded is abliterated: the refusal direction was removed from the weights. GLM 5.3 Xploded, GLM 5.3 Flash Xploded, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Xploded, Qwen3.8 27B Xploded, Qwen3.8 27B Fast Xploded are uncensored: the refusal was trained back out. The abliterated vs uncensored page explains the difference.

Which one answers fastest?

MiMo V2.6 Flash Xploded usually starts answering in one to two seconds. The GLM 5.3 Flash model thinks before it answers, so its first word can take much longer.
